Our Score

So, is the Unibond Aero 360 any good? Do you have a damp wardrobe? Perhaps a damp pantry? Maybe you have some valuables you want to keep dry? Or maybe you have a caravan or motor home in winter storage? If you are looking to keep a small space like this dry, then this moisture absorber may be the best solution.

Yes, the Unibond Aero 360 is a good moisture absorber. It is ideal for small spaces where it is impractical or unnecessary to run a regular electric powered dehumidifier. The Aero refill tab lasts up to 3 months in a 20m2 room depending on temperature and relative humidity. It works differently to a dehumidifier as it uses chemicals to extract moisture from the air instead of using electricity.

ProsCons
✅Silent❌Cost of refills could add up
✅Good for small spaces
✅Easy to use

If you need to keep a small space dry, this is certainly one of the best product options available. Simply open the box, press “open”, insert the refill tab, shut the top and then clip it into the water tank. Now you are ready to roll and leave the Unibond Aero 360 to do its job. The aero 360 is a great alternative to a dehumidifier for keeping mould at bay in a lot of circumstances.

We recommend this type of moisture absorber for small spaces as they are less effective in large rooms. This product is also great as a preventative measure against mould and damp before it has even occurred. However, If you have an existing and more widespread moisture issue causing condensation and damp, please refer to our guide on the best mini dehumidifier instead.

How does the Unibond Aero 360 Work?

First of all, how do you know if you have excess moisture in the home? Excess moisture usually collects in colder areas of the home, windows, unheated rooms and poorly insulated walls are the usual suspects. Warm air condenses as it comes into contact with the cold surfaces. Condensation appearing on your windows is a common first sign that you might have an issue with excess moisture.

This moisture only becomes an issue when it is trapped inside the home. This is commonplace in the UK winter as we opt to batten down the hatches to keep out the cold and bad weather. The average UK family can produce up to 12 litres of moisture per day via perspiration, cooking, showering etc. When this moisture is trapped inside we begin to see excess moisture and condensation.

This is where a moisture absorber comes in. They work by using special chemicals in crystal form to suck moisture out of the air and into the water tank. Over time these crystals dissolve and need replacing. Moisture absorbers do not extract as much water from the air as dehumidifiers and should not be relied on to solve serious cases of excess moisture. They are best suited to small spaces you would like to keep dry.

Where to put it?

The Unibond Aero 360 is a medium-sized moisture absorber. It is best suited to smaller spaces you want to keep free from moisture. We recommend it for small spaces like storage cupboards, caravans, pantries, utility rooms etc. As moisture absorbers are not powered by electricity, they have no moving parts and do not have an air intake. You can place it practically anywhere you want. For best results, ensure that the moisture absorber isn’t covered up in any way. Placing it in the corner of a room is always a good choice.

Refills?

Yes, the Aero 360 requires refills when the tab runs out. Each refill lasts up to 3 months depending on room size and humidity levels. If you are using this moisture absorber in a smaller space without a serious humidity issue then the refills should last longer. One of the highlights of this product is that it does not use electricity and is, therefore, free to run. The costs saved on electricity could be offset in the longterm by consistent refills being purchased. We recommend purchasing a refill at the same time you purchase the product as it only comes with 1 moisture-absorbing tab.

Spillage?

Some reviewers on the internet have stated that when spilt, the blue liquid can be difficult to clean. The product is designed not to spill in the event it is tipped over but nothing is perfect so please be mindful of this. We would suggest avoiding putting the aero 360 on a carpeted area if possible. Instead, place it where it has no chance of spilling or on an easier to clean surface such as hard floors. One solution to this problem would be to place the product in a container such as a plastic basin. This way you ensure that if a spillage should occur, your nice carpet won’t get any blue goop on it.

Scented Versions?

It is possible to buy versions of this product with specific scents such as lavender. Some reviewers have claimed that the smell of these scented editions can be quite potent so please be wary if you are not a fan of strong smells! When in doubt, you can’t go wrong with just sticking with the original.

Helps to Prevent Condensation in small areas

Ok, so to wrap this up quickly, the Unibond Aero 360 is a great alternative to an electric-powered dehumidifier in lots of situations. Small spaces such as wardrobes, storage cupboards, boats, caravans etc are all served well by it. It can also work great as a preventative measure in larger rooms which have minor condensation issues. The product will not work as well for bigger moisture issues in full-sized rooms. We recommend investing in a mini dehumidifier if you have a bigger issue with damp, condensation and mould.

I have a problem with condensation in my small porch area. Bought this, placed it inside area which already had accumulated condensation and within a few hours the condensation was gone and there was liquid in the container.
