Review details

The Nuaire Drimaster Eco Heat is a ventilation system designed to combat damp, condensation, and mould in residential buildings. It is easy to install, and users generally experience near-instant results after setting it up. However, we found that the heater wasn’t as effective as we thought it would be, as it only produced a temperature variation of around two degrees. Nuaire’s customer service explained that this was due to the 400w heater and suggested that it should be called a “Drimaster eco ever so slightly takes the edge off the temperature,” instead of a “heat” system.

The installation process may require an electrician, but otherwise, it was easy to set up. The product is installed in the attic and suspended from the rafters, and the heater unit connects to the diffuser. The new diffuser is round and looks neater, but it is thinner and sits closer to the ceiling, improving air circulation. We also experienced a temperature drop in the house after installing the Nuaire Drimaster Eco Heat.

Heating function is not particularly effective.

However, most users agree that the product is effective in combatting damp, condensation, and mould. One user noted a significant improvement in air quality and reduced levels of radon in their home. The fan is also inaudible, even at the maximum setting, making it quieter than a dehumidifier.

Nuaire Drimaster Eco Heat is an effective system to combat damp, condensation, and mould in residential buildings.

However, some users experienced a temperature drop in their homes after installation (we couldn’t confirm that ourselves), and the heater was not as effective as expected. Despite this, we recommend the product for its effectiveness and easy installation process.

User review

I have to say, I wish we had known about the Nuaire Drimaster years ago. My family and I have been living in our 1960s, 3 bedroom bungalow for 30 years now and we’ve always had issues with condensation. We tried everything from replacing the double glazing to running a dehumidifier and even using absorbent crystals for drawers and wardrobes. But as the years went by, the problem only seemed to worsen.

So, I did a lot of research online and stumbled upon the Nuaire Drimaster which had received many excellent reviews. After convincing my husband to read about it, we finally ordered one three weeks ago, right after we returned from holiday and noticed a musty smell in the house due to the Autumn damp.

The unit arrived quickly and my husband, being a qualified electrical fitter, installed it himself on a Saturday morning, following the instructions provided. The installation only took him about 3 hours and he added a double pole fuse switch for safety. He attached the unit to the rafters in our large attic, near an obsolete flue, to ensure good airflow. The unit sits unobtrusively in the hall ceiling, halfway along the length of the bungalow.

I’m usually very fussy about noise, but I can honestly say that I cannot hear anything unless I stand underneath the unit, and even then it’s quieter than our fridge or dehumidifier.

The next morning, I was excited to see if the unit had made any difference. I usually have to clear 8-10 cm of condensation from around the side and bottom seals of our north-facing bedroom window, but to my surprise, there was only a 1cm rim of condensation. Since then, we have not had any condensation issues at all. Our dehumidifier only comes on occasionally and we no longer need to empty it every 3-4 days. I don’t even need to use the shower fan anymore as our windows are clear by the time I’m dressed. We haven’t even had to open any windows, which is a huge bonus since we live by a busy main road.

The whole house feels fresher now and cooking smells clear quickly. We don’t have any signs of damp, and the mould has dried up. The wardrobe crystals we used to use are no longer absorbing any water, and we leave the doors open throughout the house when we’re out or just mooching about. Our bedroom is much less stuffy now, and my husband’s snoring has even become quieter.

I still don’t fully understand how the Nuaire Drimaster works, but it does, and it’s incredible. It may just be the best thing we’ve ever bought!
